Introduction

Founded in 1982 under the leadership of Professor Bian Xinqian, the Institute of Marine Equipment and Control Technology (SEO) has been adhering to the spirit of "integrity, harmony, pioneering and innovation". Over 30 years of teamwork, the institute has formed a culture of "dare to think, dare to do, dare to win, seek truth, be realistic, and seek rigor". Current director Professor Yan Zheping, Deputy director Professor Xia Guoqing, Professor Fu Mingyu. The institute has an innovative team with strong technical force and rich practical experience. There are 21 faculty members, including 15 with doctoral degrees, 6 professors, 4 associate professors, 1 senior engineer, including 5 doctoral supervisors, 2 associate doctoral supervisors, 15 master supervisors, and 1 new century outstanding talents of the Ministry of Education.

By 2012, when the institute was founded 30 years ago, it has undertaken and completed more than 30 projects of National Nature Fund, national defense 973, equipment pre-research projects and model projects, and won 20 science and technology awards at provincial and ministerial level and above, and its scientific research funds are nearly 210 million yuan, of which: One second prize of National invention, one second prize of National Science and Technology Progress, three third prizes, four first prizes of provincial and ministerial science and technology progress, and won the title of "National Defense Science and Technology Innovation Team" in 2008. The Institute has obtained more than 40 million yuan of construction funds for Project 211, high-tech projects and security conditions, and has built a superior scientific research and experiment environment with 2,300 square meters of research and experiment rooms and a total value of more than 80 million yuan of fixed assets for research equipment. It provides a rare practical platform for the growth of composite innovative talents and an opportunity to experiment in overseas lakes (Songhua Lake, Qiandao Lake, Fuxian Lake, Dalian, Qingdao, Zhoushan, Daya Bay, Zhanjiang, Sanya and other regions). "As long as you are willing, innovation needs you, practice you, employment appreciates you, and success is waiting for you."

Facing the research and development needs of national Marine engineering and national defense equipment, the Institute has been committed to "ship navigation and operation control theory and engineering application research" for more than 30 years, and has formed a technical direction such as ship dynamic positioning, underwater unmanned system, hovercraft integrated steering control, submarine rescue information and ocean space docking automation. Among them, the level of dynamic positioning technology, unmanned underwater vehicle technology and hovercraft steering control technology is in the domestic first-class and the world advanced level. At present, according to the technical direction, the Institute has formed two scientific research teams of ship dynamic positioning and intelligent driving control technology, underwater unmanned system and autonomous control technology.
