In order to accelerate the realization of high-level science and technology self-reliance, further break the "barriers" between regional and disciplinary development, expand the dimension of innovation, and carry out exchanges and cooperation at a higher level, higher standards and higher quality. From June 16 to 17, the first China Automatic Chemistry Association Hong Kong and Macao Doctoral Academic Exchange Meeting in 2023 was held in Harbin. Nearly 300 Ph. D. students from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, City University of Hong Kong, University of Macau, Macao University of Science and Technology and other more than 50 universities and research institutions carried out the thematic report forum and thematic poster forum. More than 600 young scholars from universities and research institutes at home and abroad participated in the academic feast in the field of intelligence to discuss the latest theories, applications and future development in the field of automation and artificial intelligence. The academic exchange meeting was co-chaired by Zhao Yuxin, Assistant to the President of Harbin Engineering University and Dean of Intelligent College; Huang Yulong, deputy dean of Intelligent College; Lv Aiying, Deputy secretary of the Party Branch of the Office of the Chinese Society of Automation; Professor Xia Guihua of Harbin Engineering University, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Intelligent Science and Engineering Li Hongbo, Executive Vice President of Graduate School Cheng Jianhua, Executive Vice President of College of Future Technology Zhang Yonggang, Deputy Secretary General of Science and Technology Association Ding Xuezhong, Deputy Director of Human Resources Department Professor Du Jingtao, Deputy Director of Graduate School Zhang Fujun and other leaders and guests attended the exchange meeting. This conference aims to promote cooperation and interaction among young scholars in the field of intelligence, broaden the academic horizon of doctoral students, enlighten academic thinking, and cross and integrate new theories and technologies of related disciplines. A total of six report sub-forums and four poster sub-forums were held. The exhibition will focus on the themes of intelligent navigation and advanced information fusion, intelligent control and optimal decision theory, intelligent robots and applications, multi-agent collaboration, artificial intelligence, intelligent electrical system, etc.
On behalf of the Chinese Society of Automation, Lv Aiying expressed warm congratulations on the convening of this meeting. She stressed that young scientific and technological talents, as a new driving force for scientific and technological innovation, are the premise for the future development of a discipline and field, and are the key to enhancing a country's scientific and technological competitiveness and innovation ability. Zhao Yuxin, on behalf of Harbin Engineering University, delivered a welcome speech to the guests. Zhao Yuxin briefly introduced the basic situation of the school and the college. After nearly 70 years of development and construction, the school has formed a distinct school-running characteristics and advantages of "three seas and one core". After the academic exchange meeting, all participants visited the Harbin Military Museum of Harbin Engineering University, the Engineering Research Center of Navigation Instruments of the Ministry of Education, the Key Laboratory of Ship Navigation and Control, the Key Laboratory of Ship Intelligence System and Technology of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The young scholars had a deeper understanding of the university's development history, research direction and research results, and further stimulated the sense of responsibility of the participating young scholars, and contributed to the service of the national strategy to open high-quality development.
The conference also invited more than 40 high-level experts in the field and more than 50 doctoral students from the State University of New York, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology, Northeastern University, Southeast University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Shandong University and other universities to serve as judges, and a total of 6 best report awards were awarded. There were 6 excellent report awards, 4 best poster awards and 8 excellent poster awards. Zhao Yuxin, assistant to the president and dean of the Intelligent College, Li Hongbo, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Intelligent College, Zhang Yonggang, Executive vice president of the Future College, and Zhang Fujun, deputy dean of the Graduate School, respectively presented the Best Report award, Excellent Report Award, Best poster Award, and Excellent Poster Award.
