Liu Zhilin

Liu Zhilin, male, Han ethnicity, born in March 1977, is a member of the Communist Party of China. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and is a professor and doctoral supervisor. He obtained his doctorate degree from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2007, and worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Harbin Engineering University from 2008 to 2010. In 2014, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. From April 2008 to July 2018, he served as a lecturer and associate professor at the School of Automation, Harbin Engineering University. Since August 2018, he has been a professor at the School of Automation, Harbin Engineering University. In July 2021, he was appointed as the Vice Dean of the School of Intelligent Science and Engineering, Harbin Engineering University. He has taught several courses for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students, including "Industrial Robotics," "Advanced Technology Ships," and "Modern Ship Intelligent Technology." Currently, he supervises over 30 doctoral and master's students.

He has been engaged in research on intelligent ships, unmanned vessel control, robot control, and predictive control of nonlinear systems. He serves as the Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Technology and Application of Ship and Ocean Equipment, Ministry of Education. He has been selected as one of the first batch of young academic backbones supported by Harbin Engineering University and participated in the Sino-Australian Young Scientist Exchange Program. He has undertaken more than ten national and provincial-level teaching and research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation, National Defense Basic Research Program, National Defense 973 Program, and key projects of educational reform in Heilongjiang Province. He has published four academic monographs, two textbooks, and more than 60 SCI and EI indexed papers as the first or corresponding author. He has received two first prizes of National Defense Scientific and Technological Progress Award, one second prize of Heilongjiang Province Scientific and Technological Progress Award, and one second prize of National Oceanic Administration Marine Engineering Science and Technology Award. He serves as an editorial board member of "Ship Engineering" and "Applied Science and Technology".
